Vernix helps to protect your baby’s skin from the amniotic fluid and keeps her skin from looking wrinkled when she is born. Big things are happening in the brain this week as the nerve cells responsible for the five senses are starting to develop.

A bit of a growth spurt has occurred this week and your baby now weighs about 8 ounces and is 6 inches long. He is the size of a mango.
Your Body at 19 Weeks
You are one week closer to meeting you sweet baby and one week closer to the halfway mark. Here’s what is going on with you:
- The pressure your uterus is putting on your blood vessels can make you feel dizzy or faint. Make sure to sit down if you start to feel light headed.
- Abdominal aches. It’s caused by round ligament pain and some women report feeling it spread down to the groin area.
- Hip pain. Do yourself a favor and get a giant body pillow to help ease the pain at night time.
- Weight Gain.
