23 Weeks- Officially Six Months Pregnant!

You’ve made it to the sixth month of your pregnany. Just 3 more months to go! 

As you are getting closer and closer to the big day, you may want to start thinking about taking a maternity tour at the hospital or birthing center you will deliver at. We’ve listed out all the best questions to ask in this post.

Baby In Action at 23 Weeks

Baby is getting stronger! What started out as little flutters from the inside are now full blown baby kicks. You may even start to be able to see them from outside your belly!

Baby’s organs and bones are getting stronger too. Baby’s skin is still a reddish color but will start to change in the coming weeks.

Baby Size at 23 Weeks

Baby is now weighing in at one pound! Can you believe that what started out as a clump of cells is now a whole pound of baby?! Baby is the size of a grapefruit.

Your Body at 23 Weeks

At 23 weeks, many woman begin to experience swelling in their hands and feet. This is normal, however extreme swelling can be a sign of preeclampsia and you should notify your doctor if it is concerning.

There are many ways you can reduce swelling naturally, We’ve outlined them all in this post. 

You may also start to see a dark line running down the center of your belly button soon. This is called Linea Negra. It is common in most pregnancy’s and will fade after baby arrives. More on why it happens here.

-Schedule a hospital maternity tour. Here’s a list of all the questions to ask while on your tour. 

-Kick your feet up and rest. It will help with any swelling you may be experiencing. You can also wear compression socks, just be sure to put them on first thing in the morning before the swelling starts!
