You are rounding out the 5th month of your pergnancy and will soon be 6 months pregnant! Meaning you are in the last week of your 2nd trimester. Hang in there mama!
Baby In Action at 27 Weeks
Over the past 26 weeks, baby’s eyelids have been fused shut, but he or she is now able to open their eyelids! How amazing is that?! Baby is still listening closely to all the sounds of the outside world, including mamas voice. Also, baby may now start to experience the hiccups and mama may be able to feel it when it’s happening! Adorable!
Baby Size at 27 Weeks
Baby is nearing the 2 pound weight mark! Grow, baby, GROW! Baby is now about 14.5 inches long and is the size of a cabbage.
Your Body at 27 Weeks
Here are some of the most common symptoms you may be experiencing at 27 weeks pregnant:
–Heartburn: baby is growing! And all of that growth tends to put more pressure on your intestines and stomach, making heartburn especially common during the third trimester. Tums and Roliads are a great way to calm the burn. You can also try to differentiate which foods cause more issues than others and avoid them.
–Lower Back Pain: That bump is putting alot of strain on your lower back. Rest frequently and consider taking a prenatal class to relax and stretch out those aching back muscles. You can also opt for a maternity support belt to help take the strain off of your back.
–Shortness of Breath: Not only is your growing baby pushing on your stomach, bladder, lower back (and a long list of other things), but he or she is also crowding your lung space, making mama short of breath. Rest assured, baby will drop in the coming weeks and it should get easier to breath normally.
27 Week To-Do-List
-Take some time this week to focus on mama. Pamper yourself! Get a massage or pedicure or simply set aside time to relax.
