Very Berry Lactation Smoothie

The collection of lactation recipes I have acquired over the past two years will tell you that I always have a sweet tooth when I am breastfeeding! I love smoothies, muffins, and even lactation milkshakes! And this very berry smoothie is the perfect amount of sweetness with all the best lactation support ingredients!

This recipe has Oats, flaxseed, and brewers yeast in it, all of which are galactagogues, which is just a fancy scientific way of saying that these are foods that support healthy lactation in breastfeeding mothers. Without these, this is just a plain, ol’ berry smoothie!

Ingredients and Directions

1 Cup Frozen Berries (I buy the triple berry blend. Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, but this can be changed for preference)
1/2 Cup Greek yogurt (you can do vanilla or plain)
1 Cup Almond Milk
1/3 Cup Quick Oats
1 tbsp Ground Flaxseed
1 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Brewer’s Yeast

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. If you like a thicker smoothie, you can add extra ice!

ENJOY!
